Dr. Rajadurai is very much concerned about our cultural heritage, the legacy of physical artifacts and intangible attributes, inherited from our ancient generations to be maintained in the present for current strength and preserved for the benefit of future generations. Mylaudy Dr. S. Rajadurai was honoured as a Guest Speaker of Chicago Tamil Sangam, “Mutthamizh Vizha” held at Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple, Aurora, Chicago, 1990. Dr. Rajadurai also involved in promoting our Culture through the Indians living in America. Dr. Rajadurai advocates and works for the cause of protecting the society from various forms of degradation. He is a multi talented social activist, man of enthusiasm, excellent communicator, lovable and respected personality. He has the ability to persuade others and also actively participate in social events. He strives to create harmony among the people.

Spiritual Service

Dr. Rajadurai and his family constructed the Mutharamman temple Raja Gopuram & Manimandapam in Mylaudy and completed Kumbabishekam and dedicated to the public worship on July 1998 for the Village people. He donated various infrastructures and supports to different temples: swamithoppu temple, Iyyappa temple Lakshmipuram, Iyyappa temple Pottalkulam, Sudalaimadan temple, Perumal Puram etc. He is the member of Tamil Nadu Deiveega Peravai & represented Kanyakumari district, Tamil Nadu. He was a member of the India donor team living in America to support the installation of “Adhiyantha Prabhu”, the unique idol, one half is Vinayaga and the other half is Anjaneya in Adyar Mathiya Kailash, Chennai in 1987.

Dr. Rajadurai is the man of ideology, loyalty and patriotism. Rajadurai works hard to make the society stronger. He came to India from the US in 1997 to celebrate India’s 50thIndependence Day and hoisted our national flag in the remote village at Mylaudy Town Panchayat in Kanyakumari District and shared his thoughts with the people. After returning to India in 2008, Dr. Rajadurai celebrated Independence Day and Republic Day every year with young engineers and motivated them with the spirit of our cultural heritage and innovative philosophies.

Environmental Conservation

Dr. Rajadurai visited the Thiruvalluvar statue at Kanyakumari in 2008 to participate in the New Year Day gathering organized by State Bank of India. He delivered a lecture on environmental awareness education and provided solutions for pollution control to avoid and minimize erosion. He strongly passionated about conservation of energy and environment. He urged the people to plant more saplings and spread greenery in the rural pockets.

Harvest Festival

Dr. Rajadurai has been actively engaged in cultural promotional activities. He participated, encouraged, promoted and celebrated Pongal festival and sports activities at Mylaudy Village in Kanyakumari District every year from 1994.

Sports & Events

Dr. Rajadurai is a true believer of sports as they encourage the growth of team spirit and unity in diversity for problem solving as well as maintain or improve physical ability and skills. Physical exercise is good for the mind, body and spirit. Team sports help to teach adolescents accountability, dedication, leadership and other skills. Dr. Rajadurai was a national level weight lifter & athlete. He represented the weight lifting team in IIT Chennai from 1976 to 1979. His scientific approach of weightlifting (snatch and clean & jerk) differentiated him from the other players and he won Silver in Kanpur, Gold in Bombay and Gold in Madras. He set a record and also captained the Inter IIT team 1977. He thinks playing sports is an emotional, mental and physical adventure. Rajadurai Foundation supports organizing and conducting sport & events every year during Pongal festival in rural villages of Tamil Nadu. He is involved in conducting sports & cultural activities in schools & colleges.

Sports provide relief and a sense of relaxation in a life of monotony of routine marked by miseries, hardships and hurdles. More recently, sport has become a major leisure activity globally. Rajadurai Foundation aims to provides understanding of the breadth and depth of the field of sport and active recreation to all athlete’s. It assists people to develop a personal and professional philosophy about sport and active recreation service delivery.  It encourages all children to participate in sports or other regular physical activity.
